In 15 minutes we establish the headline issue, urgency and whether I am likely to be useful.
How it works
You do not need a perfect brief. Bring the situation as it is. I will help establish what matters, what is possible and what needs to happen next.
The process
The exact work changes, but the engagement should always feel controlled and easy to understand.
In 15 minutes we establish the headline issue, urgency and whether I am likely to be useful.
I set out what I will do, what you will receive, the information needed, fee and expected timetable.
Once instructed and paid, I complete the agreed work and keep you informed at sensible points.
You receive the agreed output, a clear position and any actions that remain for you or another adviser.
Starting well
Only what you already have and can explain safely. Do not send highly sensitive documents through an unsecured channel before we agree how they should be handled.
What has happened, what outcome you want and any immediate deadline.
Relevant letters, forms, agreements or figures—but wait for secure handling instructions if they contain sensitive data.
Who makes the decision, who needs to provide information and whether anyone else is already advising you.
Previous applications, conversations, decisions or work that affects the route forward.
During the work
Good communication is part of the work, but unnecessary meetings are not.
I update you when a decision is needed, a meaningful milestone is reached or the position changes.
If new work becomes necessary, I explain why and agree the additional fee before doing it.
I can recommend, challenge, draft and coordinate. Material decisions and legal responsibility remain yours.
I will identify points that require an accountant, solicitor, regulated adviser, broker or other specialist.
Defined outcome. Clear handover. No unexplained loose ends.
Finishing properly
It may be a submitted application, reviewed plan, evidence pack, completed analysis, working process, project tracker, formal correspondence or an agreed recommendation.
At handover I make clear what has been completed, what remains outstanding, where responsibility sits and whether any deadline or follow-up still matters.
